I think I just liked the idea of a coffee flavored cocktail called aggravation. While the Aggravation has kahlua and heavy cream, neither of which we had in the house, I still liked the idea of a sweet coffee flavor with scotch.
I figured what the heck I have some Perc Coffee Liqueur to get that sweet coffee flavor and if I mix that with some quality scotch, a Macallan 12 year double cask for example, I could end up with a black coffee version of the aggravation. The results were far from aggravating.
- 2.5 oz scotch
- .5 oz Perc Coffee Liqueur
Stir ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Strain into chilled coupe.
